TRADITIONAL ARTS CENTER
Restoration of an architectural monument and its adaptation to a new function in the city of Shusha
Following the liberation of the city of Shusha as a result of the successful military operations carried out by the Azerbaijani Army during the Second Karabakh War, large-scale restoration works have been undertaken to revive the historical monuments and architectural heritage located throughout the city. Within this framework, several historical buildings and monuments have already been restored, while other structures are planned to be gradually revitalized.
One of these projects is the restoration of the “Former Hospital Complex” building in the city of Shusha and its adaptation into a Traditional Arts Center. The building, which suffered severe destruction and damage over many years, with some sections collapsed and its overall structural condition considered unsafe, is planned to undergo urgent restoration and reinforcement works.
The main objective of the project is not only to preserve the historical architectural heritage, but also to create a new public and cultural space that reflects and sustains Shusha’s rich traditions of culture and art.
